The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) revealed that it has rented My Dinh National Stadium as the venue for the three home games of the 2026 World Cup.

The second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup will take place in November. To prepare for the tournament, VFF signed a contract with National Sports Complex to rent My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi as the home field of Vietnam for three matches.

According to Tuoi Tre, the rental price of My Dinh is VND800 million (US$32,520) a match. This is also the price that VFF paid to rent My Dinh Stadium for the Vietnam national team during the 2022 AFF Cup.

In this second qualifying round, 36 teams are divided into nine groups and compete in a round-robin format from November 2023 to June 2024.

The first and second place teams in each group will enter the third qualifying round and will gain qualification for the 2027 Asian Cup.

Vietnam are in Group F with Iraq, the Philippines and Indonesia. They play the opening match against hosts Philippines on Nov. 16.

The three matches at My Dinh Stadium will take place against Iraq on Nov. 21, Indonesia on March 21, 2024 and the Philippines on June 6, 2024.

The national team will gather in early November to prepare for the matches.

In October, Vietnam lost three friendly games against China, Uzbekistan and South Korea, conceding 10 goals and scoring none.
