After parting ways with the Thailand national team, Mano Polking has no plan to return to coaching right away.

After the Brazilian-German was sacked by the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), V. League club HCMC FC, where he had a short spell in 2020-21, are said to have contacted him and expressed interest in his services.

He told VnExpress on Wednesday: "The rumors about my next team are crazy. I’m still in Bangkok, Thailand, at the moment."

The 47-year-old said he has received several offers, including some from V. League clubs, but refused to name them.

"Now is not the time to return. I’ll take a break and go back to Brazil for Christmas, only then will I decide to choose my next team."

He was assistant coach to Thailand from 2012 to 2013, then coached Thai League clubs like Army United, Suphanburi and Bangkok United. In 2020 he became the head coach of HCMC, but left the club when the league was canceled due to Covid-19.

During his spell as the Thai coach in 2021-23 he helped the team win the AFF Cup twice. But he was sacked due to other poor results.

HCMC FC are also said to have contacted former Vietnamese national coach Park Hang-seo, South Korean coach Chung Hae-sung and Thai coach Dusit Chalermsan.

Phung Thanh Phuong is the interim manager now.
