England football WAGs spend big on private bodyguards for Euro

The group of WAGs led by Harry Maguire's wife Fern and Jordan Pickford's wife Megan will share the cost.

Other members included Jack Grealish’s girlfriend Sasha Attwood and Bukayo Saka’s partner Tolami Benson, the Daily Mail reported.

The decision to hire private bodyguards came after reports of terror attack threats at the Euros surfaced, which concerned the German government.

The WAGs also want to replace the security team of England Football Association (FA) for their hand-picked guards.

"They are looking to hire ex-military trained to deal with all sorts of threats. They'll operate from a discreet distance so the group don't draw too much attention. It means they can enjoy more freedom and feel safer at the same time.

"They do not want that their every move being monitored and then reported back to the FA," a source told The Sun.

This source also added that the cost will be £65,000 in the first few weeks and can increase to £100,000 if England go all the way in the tournament.

England, a strong contender for the Euro title with their star-studded squad, will begin their campaign on June 16, against Serbia.
