Michelin-starred dinner and chocolate artistry awaits in Saigon this weekend

Experience a diverse Saigon weekend with French cinema, chocolate crafting, Michelin-star dining, a lavish brunch, and a crochet workshop.

Michelin-starred dinner

This Saturday, P'ti Saigon will welcome chef Mathieu Perou, known for his achievements at the Le Manoir de la Régate restaurant in Nante, France, where he earned both a red and green Michelin star for his outstanding culinary skills.

Chef Perou, also known for his commitment to sustainability, will offer a 6-course menu paired with selected wines at P'ti Saigon. The menu includes culinary delights such as a mousseline shaped like a carp with oxtail broth, carrot tarte tatin, and vinaigrette, as well as beef with nut satay.

The event is scheduled for October 14, commencing at 6 p.m., at P'ti Saigon, at 52 Ngo Quang Huy Street, District 2. Guests can look forward to a 6-course meal, costing VND2,500,000 ($100) per person, with the possibility of adding wine pairing for VND1,100,000 per person.

French movie "Le Jouet" (The Toy)

French cinema rendez-vous is a new weekly event introducing the richness and diversity of French cinema by screening a variety of very different films. Screenings are held by French Cinema Rendez-vous and Institut français de HCMV.

"Le Jouet" tells the story of a billionaire and his son, who go to a department store to buy gifts. The young boy surprises everyone by choosing a journalist as his playmate. Their friendship becomes a heartwarming tale of compassion and the desire to free the journalist from his father's control.

The screening will take place at DCiné Cinema, at No. 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, starting at 7:00 p.m. on October 14. The price of a ticket is VND60,000 ($2.40) per person.

Chocolate workshop

For those looking to spend a delightful weekend with family and friends, Binon Saigon Chocolate offers an enticing opportunity to create your own chocolate masterpieces at their "Chokotto Chocolate Experience" event.

Held regularly on Saturdays, this event invites participants to embark on a creative journey and craft their own unique chocolate decorations. The event begins with a learning session on the chocolate-making process using cocoa beans.

Participants will gain an understanding of how chocolate is molded, solidified, and transformed into delectable creations. They will even have the chance to work with authentic chocolate produced in a factory in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province that borders HCMC.

Participants of all ages are welcomed to take part in this experience. Those under the age of five must be accompanied by an adult. The event is scheduled for October 14 at Binon Saigon Branch, at 12H Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 1, with a starting time of 2 p.m. The duration of the event is approximately one hour, and the cost is VND250,000 ($10) per participant.

Best of the best Reverie brunch

Reverie Saigon, a luxury hotel in Saigon, hosts a Sunday brunch event called "Best of the finest Reverie brunch." This gastronomic experience will take place every Sunday, at the Café Cardinal main dining area from noon to 3 p.m.

The "Best of the finest Reverie brunch" will showcase a delightful array of cuisines from the hotel's renowned restaurants, including Café Cardinal, Da Vittorio Saigon, The Long @ Times Square, and The Royal Pavilion. Guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a wide range of culinary offerings, from gourmet Italian dishes to exquisite French specialties.

The brunch package is priced at VND1,788,000 ($75) per person, which includes a delectable selection of food, soft drinks, juices, tea, and coffee. Children aged 6 to 11 will receive a 50% discount, while children under 6 years old can enjoy the brunch free of charge.

Crochet workshop

For those with a passion for the art of crochet, an opportunity awaits. Lapaz Garden will host a crochet workshop this Saturday, offering an opportunity to explore various crochet techniques, share ideas, and create beautiful pieces. During the workshop, participants will learn fundamental crochet stitches, receive the necessary tools, and take their creations home.

The workshop costs VND350,000 ($14) per ticket and includes drinking water. It will be held at Lapaz Garden on October 14, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. The venue is at 16 Tran Van Sac Street in District 2.
