Hong Kong actor Louis Koo says on-screen lover Jessica Hsuan is ‘family’

On Feb. 20, Koo hosted a Lunar New Year's party to commemorate his 30 years in the entertainment industry, extending invitations to close fans and fellow artists from his company, One Cool Film Production, including Jessica Hsuan, reported Chinese media site On.

During the celebration, Koo said that Hsuan was not only a significant figure in his professional life but also a cherished part of his personal life. He underlined that their connection transcends the confines of work and that even if Hsuan is not formally associated with One Cool Film Production, she remains a part of his "extended family."

The duo's association dates back to 1994, marking their entry into showbiz. Their first collaboration was in the TV series "Class of Distinction."

Over the years, they teamed up for several popular TVB (Hong Kong’s Television Broadcasting Limited) series such as "Detective Investigation Files IV" and "A Step into the Past." In 2019, they reunited for the movie adaptation of "A Step into the Past."

Hsuan has that their relationship is akin to that of siblings, highlighting their comfort and casual camaraderie. She admires Koo's dedication to his work.

According to Sina, Koo is more prominent in Hong Kong cinema than ever before, and is even recognized as the new "boss." His production company actively invests in various projects, contributing to job creation within the industry at a time when it is facing many challenges.

Koo, 54 and known for holding Hong Kong’s record for featuring in the most TV series and movies over the past decade, has publicly dated actress Natalie Wong.

On the other hand, Hsuan, also 54 and single, has experienced multiple relationships, including one with Hong Kong actor Dicky Cheung. Despite two engagements to individuals outside the entertainment industry, both were eventually called off.
