The Piramals: In-laws of Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani, the tycoon’s 33-year-old daughter, exchanged vows with Anand Piramal, 40, in a grand ceremony in 2018 that is said to have cost US$100 million, as per a report by GQ India.

The Times of India states that Anand, the only son-in-law of the billionaire, pursued an undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Princeton University in the U.S. before securing a law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

With Ajay Piramal, 69, leading the way, his family’s total net worth is estimated at US$2.8 billion, according to Forbes.

The narrative of the Piramals’ success began when Ajay, at the age of 22, founded a textile venture, which he expanded into the Piramal Group, now a formidable global conglomerate with interests spanning pharmaceuticals, financial services, information management, real estate, and glass packaging.

Ajay Piramal presides as the group’s chairman, with his spouse Swati as the vice-chairman, and their children, Nandini and Anand, are among the board members.

The Mehtas: In-laws of Akash Ambani

Isha’s twin Akash wed 34-year-old Shloka Mehta, a scion of the Mehta family in 2020. Mehta completed her undergraduate studies in anthropology at Princeton University and later earned a master’s in law and anthropology from the London School of Economics, as Vogue India reports.

Gulf News reveals that she is the granddaughter of Arunkumar Mehta, who co-founded B. Arunkumar & Co. This enterprise later evolved into Rosy Blue, a conglomerate with diversified interests in media, real estate, financial services, retail, and the trading of rough diamonds, boasting a revenue of nearly 56 billion rupees (US$677 million) for the fiscal year 2022, according to GQ India.

Indian Express highlights its status as one of the globe’s premier diamond trading entities.

The Merchants: Future in-laws of Anant Ambani

Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant, 28, is poised to marry into the Merchant family, a lineage noted for its significant wealth and clout, primarily through Encore Healthcare, which leads India in tablet manufacturing capacity and boasts an approximate valuation of 20 billion rupees, according to GQ India.

Forbes disclosed that Anant’s fiancée Radhika Merchant, 29, completed her bachelor’s in political science at New York University in 2017 and currently serves on the board of Encore Healthcare.

The couple commemorated their upcoming nuptials with a lavish three-day pre-wedding festivity from March 1-3, which, according to the Daily Mail, incurred expenses amounting to 120 million pounds (US$151.9 million).

Their wedding is scheduled for July 12.
