Prices of Ri6 and Monthong durians rose on Thursday in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands, Vietnam's two main durian-producing regions.

The highest-grade Ri6 durian now costs VND120,000 (US$4.72) per kilogram in the Mekong Delta, marking a 4.3% rise from the previous day. In the Central Highlands, it is priced at VND115,000 per kilogram, up by 2.7%.

The price of Monthong durian remained stable at VND140,000 per kilogram in both regions.

For exports, the Ri6 variety saw its price increase by 3.5% to VND150,000 per kilogram, while the Thai cultivar rose by 4.7% to VND178,000.

The Vietnamese magazine Doanh Nghiep va Hoi Nhap reported that the harvest season in the Central Highlands is nearing its end, leading to rising prices as supplies from large orchards dwindle.
