With a vision to transform U.S. healthcare through advanced technology and a Vietnam-rooted delivery model, H3Tech positions itself not as a typical offshore vendor but as a strategic development partner for healthcare technology companies in the U.S. and globally.

Per Co-CEOs and Co-Founders Mikael Ohman and Michael (Mike) Gilbert, Healthcare represents nearly 20% of the U.S. economy, yet is plagued by high costs and underwhelming outcomes. "Technology has the potential to both reduce costs and improve quality," Mikael said. "We launched H3Tech to use high-tech solutions to make a difference to the humans in healthcare."

Both Mikael and Mike have worked with global software engineering firms all over the world. In their experience, "Vietnam has some of the best software engineers and technology leadership in the world. When we decided to launch H3Tech, Vietnam was the obvious choice," Mike said. He also recognizes and appreciates the investments the Vietnamese government has made in education and other support for the technology sector.

H3Tech breaks from the traditional offshore model by placing Vietnamese engineers within client teams.

"We operate differently. Our team engages directly with the customers on strategies and planning as well as execution. Our teams are deeply embedded with the customer teams and communicate and collaborate as one team. This allows us and our clients to make decisions fast and bring the best perspectives and solutions to the table in real time", Mikael said.

The founders believe the closeness fosters ownership and drives impactful solutions. "The ownership of and accountability for client outcomes and success is 100% here," Mike said.

The firm expects every team member to treat client solutions as their own, proposing ideas and communicating openly. This approach speeds professional growth, deepening domain expertise in healthcare while strengthening communication, leadership, and technical skills. "It provides tremendous opportunities for career advancement and development," Mike added.

With healthcare’s immense data intensity and complexity, technology is uniquely positioned to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve care outcomes. H3Tech is placing AI at the core of its roadmap:

In software development, team members are rigorously trained on the use of the latest AI tools to accelerate and improve delivery.

Internally, the company is becoming an AI-first organization, deploying AI agents across HR, IT, Finance, and other functions.

For clients, H3Tech is working with customers on designing, developing, and launching AI-based solutions inside their product and service offerings.

"AI has tremendous potential to dramatically improve healthcare," Mikael emphasized.

H3Tech’s five-year vision goes far beyond operating as just an offshore software development partner. "We aspire to grow H3Tech into a dominant global technology organization with thousands of employees making a positive impact on hundreds of customers, on millions of patients and providers, and on society as a whole." Mike said.

Achieving that vision, the founders note, hinges on "delivery excellence," consistently producing tangible value while developing the next generation of leaders within its Vietnam team.

"Our greatest aspiration is to see our team members learn, grow, and feel proud of the tremendous positive impact they’ve had on so many people across the world," Mike added.
