Vietnam Airlines has called off its general meeting on June 20 and has yet to select a new date for it.

The state-owned airline said in a statement that it needed more time to prepare for the meeting, which will be organized before August 30.

It will finalize the list of shareholders on July 11.

Vietnam laws require a public company to organize a general meeting within four months of the end of the financial year. The board of directors can extend the deadline by another two months at most.

Vietnam Airlines has not been able to complete its audited financial report for last year. Due to the delay, its shares have been under restricted trading since the end of April.

At the end of last year, the airline was posting an accumulated loss of VND32 trillion ($1.35 billion).
