The government has approved construction of the Phuoc Binh 2 Industrial Zone 30 kilometers from the under-construction Long Thanh airport in the southern province of Dong Nai.
Nhon Trach 6A company, which was established in 2014 and has developed some property and infrastructure projects, will be its developer.
Several large industrial zones have been green-lighted for Dong Nai Province in recent months as the province is expected to benefit from the airport, whose first phase is scheduled to be completed next year.
In September the 1,000-hectare Bau Can – Tan Hiep Industrial Zone was approved.
Dong Nai has 31 active industrial zones with 6,000 hectares in them leased by companies.
Long Thanh International Airport, one of Vietnam's most ambitious infrastructure projects, will cost a total of VND336.63 trillion ($13.38 billion).
In its first phase it will accommodate 25 million passengers a year, and eventually its capacity will be upgraded to 100 million.
