Manulife Vietnam gets new CEO

She will report directly to Phil Witherington, president and CEO of Manulife Asia.

Before joining Manulife, Nguyen was the CEO of Generali Vietnam, the sixth-biggest insurer in Vietnam in terms of annual new contracts.

She also had more than 10 years of experience at Prudential Vietnam in various positions including deputy CEO and CFO.

She was also the CFO for Texas Electric Cooperatives in the United States.

Nguyen is taking a new job at Manulife Vietnam amid the biggest trust crisis ever seen in the industry after many customers were defrauded by bank employees who sold insurance policies branded as cash deposits with high-interest rates.
