Bamboo Airways chairman Le Thai Sam has resigned as a director of FLC Group, and shareholders will consider it at the upcoming annual general meeting.

Sam joined the FLC board in July last year when the company was going through major leadership changes.

He is also a creditor to the company, having loaned it VND620 billion (US$26.1 million).

In May FLC agreed to transfer its over 400 million shares in Bamboo Airways to him, and said it had completely separated from the airline.

Sam now owns more than 50% of Bamboo Airways.

He became its chairman in early July in place of Oshima Hideki, a Japanese national.

Sam has more than 30 years’ experience in running property, services, finance, and banking businesses.
