17 shareholders own 60% stake in OCB

Orient Commercial Bank is 60% owned by 17 individuals and businesses, according to a company release.

Japan’s Aozora Bank is the biggest shareholder with a 15% stake.

Portal Global Limited owns 3.03% and Pyn Elite Fund has 2.42%.

Chairman Trinh Van Tuan and his affiliates own a 19.9% stake in the bank.

OCB posted a 23% growth in pre-tax profit in the first quarter to VND1.21 trillion.

A new regulation that came into effect this month requires banks to disclose details of shareholders with a 1% stake or more.
