Police in Ho Chi Minh City have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing another man following a traffic collision.

Vu Dinh Minh Thien, 27, is under investigation for murder, police announced on Wednesday.

According to the initial investigation, Thien was riding his motorcycle on Lo Te Street in Binh Tan on Monday night when he collided with a 49-year-old man.

A heated argument broke out between the two, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Thien allegedly stabbed the older man, causing him to collapse on the street. Although bystanders rushed the victim to the hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Thien fled the scene but was soon identified by police, who launched a manhunt and urged his family to persuade him to surrender for a chance at leniency.

Thien turned himself in to local authorities in Dong Nai that boders HCMC on Tuesday.
