Forty-year-old singer engages to model bride 17 years his junior

The singer’s family departed at 7 a.m. from a hotel in the city of Ca Mau. It took them more than an hour by car and canoe to reach the model’s house in the town of Nam Can.

Hieu said he was up all night the previous night writing his vows. Guests burst to laughter listening to Hieu’s vows, as the singer incorporated hilarious and witty details.

Responding to Hieu’s vows, Nhu said: "I’m still young and clueless about many things. It is Hieu who has helped me figure things out."

She added that she thought of Hieu as a trustworthy man who she could lean on, and she always felt happy whenever she was with him.

500 hydrangea and orchid flowers were used as decorations on the couple’s big day. The party’s decor took inspiration from the scenes along the banks of the rivers in the Mekong River Delta. Guests were also offered lotus tea and candied ginger by Nhu.

According to Hieu, neither of them had much impression of the other after their first encounter. Their feelings gradually developed as they started to know each other better and realize how much they had in common. Hieu said both families supported the relationship between them.

The couple moved in together and is planning to have a child before holding a wedding ceremony. Hieu said many people had told him that he was too rushed wanting to have a child with Nhu as they had been dating for a few months only, but he thought of him and Nhu as mature people who always considered things a lot before making a decision.

"I’m 40 already, and I’m afraid of the scenario in which I have to live the rest of my life in solitude," the singer said.

Hieu has gained a lot of success as a singer and a web-drama producer. His web-drama series attracted hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.

Nhu is an active freelance model.
