The report, released on Monday, suggests that Kang obtained a loan of 250 million won and then transferred the amount to Park, ostensibly for her living expenses, as translated by the news website Soompi.

In response to these claims, Park’s agency, Hook Entertainment, issued a statement on the same day. It clarified that the 250-million-won loan was in fact secured by Kang through an account in Park’s name, and Park did not use this money for personal living costs.

The agency further stated that Park was not involved in any illegal activities, nor did she receive any illegal benefits.

Park also appeared to address these accusations on her Instagram, posting that she is "sick of it all," and expressing her belief in the triumph of honesty.

This controversy follows her previous denial of receiving financial benefits from Kang, which she announced through her agency in Sep. 2022 coinciding with her separation from him, just two days after her relationship with Kang became public.

Kang was arrested in early 2023 on charges of alleged embezzlement and market manipulation, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.

After his arrest, Park was questioned by investigators about her potential involvement in Kang’s alleged illegal activities. As reported by The Korea Herald, the investigation focused on whether Park had profited from any illegal dealings within the company or its affiliates.

Park reportedly denied all allegations of her involvement.

Park, 38, made her debut in the entertainment industry in 2005 with a commercial for SK Telecom, a leading South Korean telecommunications company.

She launched her acting career in 2006 and quickly gained popularity. Among her most notable works are the TV series "High Kick!," "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim."

Her most recent project is the drama series "Marry My Husband," currently on air. During the series’ press conference, Park opened up for the first time about her relationship with Kang, describing it as giving her an "extremely tiring year."
