Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel and Miss Universe Thailand 2007 Farung Yuthithum have confirmed their attendance at Vietnamese designer Do Manh Cuong's show at the New York Fashion Week.

Set to take place on Sunday, Cuong's show will have 350 guests attending, of whom most are billionaires, fashion magazine editors, and celebrities.

Gabriel is the first global star to accept the invitation to the show. The American beauty queen has reportedly given Cuong her measurements since she will don an outfit customized for her by the Vietnamese designer.

Yuthithum also departed for New York on Thursday to attend the show.

Appreciating the minimalist, feminine, and classy vibe of Cuong's designs, Yuthithum has been his longtime customer.

She has been seen in various shows held by Cuong in Vietnam, Australia, and the U.S.

The Thai beauty queen said she was surprised when Cuong gave her a sneak peek of the outfits he will introduce at the show.

"I’m excited because I have never tried outfits similar to these before," she said.

American television host of Vietnamese descent Jeannie Mai, best known for her makeover show "How Do I Look," is another guest that has confirmed participation in Cuong's New York show.

Accompanied by his entourage and close celebrity friends, Cuong departed from HCMC to New York on Monday.

The Vietnamese designer said his upcoming show at New York Fashion Week would be a show with a lot of "records" in his career: it will be his shortest show, with the smallest number of designs unveiled, yet also most costly show he has ever held. And because of this, he feels under pressure.

"It is not easy to impress [the guests] and showcase my unique designing style with a short show," he said.

Cuong, 42, graduated in the top 20 of his class at the French fashion school Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.

He interned at Dior before returning to Vietnam and establishing his first brand DMC by Do Manh Cuong in 2007, then his second brand SIXDO in 2020.
