Asia's richest billionaire Ambani's wife dazzles in $66.5M jewelry set at son's pre-wedding

According to Business Insider, the esteemed figure in Indian haute couture and the artistic overseer of the Ambani pre-wedding festivities, Manish Malhotra, shared on Instagram images of Nita arrayed in a radiant gold saree on March 3, the concluding night of the three-day pre-wedding event for her son Anant that commenced on March 1.

The photographs reveal Nita showcasing a necklace adorned with a lavish mix of diamonds and emeralds, centered by two large gems. The value of this accessory has been the subject of widespread speculation, with fashion publications such as GQ India and Harper’s Bazaar India appraising its value at 5 billion rupees (US$60.4 million).

Another jewelry piece showcased by Nita was the Mirror of Paradise, a 52.58-carat diamond sold at a Christie’s auction in June 2019 for US$6.5 million, as reported by Vogue India. Nita also wore the ring during the inauguration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center in Mumbai in April 2023.

Nita, 61, completed her Commerce degree at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics in Mumbai. She is also trained in Bharatnatyam dance.

Having previously worked as a teacher, she now plays a pivotal role as the founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic division of Reliance Industries, a conglomerate owned and directed by her spouse. She has also recently taken up the position of chairperson at a newly-formed media conglomerate that emerged from the merger of Disney and Reliance Industries.

Nita got married to Mukesh Ambani, 67, in 1985, and together they have three children: a daughter Isha and two sons Anant and Akash.

As of March 12, Forbes ranks Mukesh Ambani’s net worth at US$117.7 billion, positioning him as the richest individual in Asia and the ninth wealthiest globally.
