Thailand's most beautiful transgender woman praised on Vietnam reality show

Treechada, also known as Nong Poy, appeared in episode two which aired on Friday night, as the judge of a photo challenge that combined contemporary fashion and folk culture.

She said she was excited to have the opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese culture through being a judge.

The 37-year-old beauty wore a tight silk dress, which adorned her pale skin tone. Many moments of Treechada were shared by viewers on social media, attracting dozen of thousands of views and reactions.

In the episode, Treechada gave many suggestions to the models on how to pose and express themselves, while also being fairly critical. Transgender beauty queen Huong Giang, a mentor on the show said that Treechada’s presence in the jury brought new perspectives.

Treechada said that the trip to Vietnam left many impressions on her. She said she loves street food and the coffee here. She also likes to listen to Vietnamese music and the delicate local handmade fabric, which she bought as gifts for her relatives and friends in Thailand.

During many days of shooting, Treechada said that she felt comfortable and complimented the professionalism of the Vietnamese mentors.

Treechada came to HCMC to shoot in July with Thai judges Lukkade Metinee, Sonia Couling and Cris Horwang. They are all well-known in the fashion industry and have served as judges and coaches on many famous reality TV shows.

The show's producer said Treechada is a star across Asia who is well-known for her beauty and talent. She's an inspiration to a large number of people in her country and abroad.

Treechada returned to work after marrying businessman Oak Phakwa Hongyok in April.

She underwent gender-affirming surgery at the age of 17 and won the Miss International Queen pageant a year later.

The beauty has acted in movies and TV shows in Hong Kong and Thailand, including "The White Storm," "From Vegas To Macau II" and "The Scarlet Night."

She is also the face of many cosmetic and jewelry brands.

In 2015, she became the first Thai transgender person on the list of 100 most beautiful faces by independent critic TC Candler.

The New Mentor seeks and trains a new generation of models with leadership qualities for the high-end fashion industry, with a lineup of mentors including supermodel Thanh Hang, singer Ho Ngoc Ha, supermodel Lan Khue and transgender beauty queen Huong Giang.
