"A man turned on his phone light and flashed at us for one second, saying in Mandarin that he entered the wrong room," said the advisor, known only as Cecilia. The quote came from her speaking on a video posted to her TikTok account Nov. 15, reported the South China Morning Post.

"But I could tell he was looking around our bags area."

According to Cecilia, the incident happened during her family’s first night at the hotel. She said she and her husband went back to bed after the interaction and took no action until the following day because they were too tired, according to Singaporean news site AsiaOne.

When Cecilia reported the case to the hotel staff the following day, she was informed that no movements were recorded outside her room around the time she said. Still, the hotel upgraded her family’s booking to a suite for their second night.

Responding to Cecilia’s claim, the hotel said its investigation was still ongoing. However, no tracks of room invasion had been found yet, as its system showed that no unauthorized duplication of Cecilia’s room key cards was recorded and no one had tapped into her room at the time of the alleged invasion.

It also said it would consult with its lawyers for actions if needed, while stepping up its in-house patrols in the meantime to guarantee its guests’ safety.
