Vietnamese model Linh Rin and retail heir Phillip Nguyen have postponed their wedding in Saigon due to a potential coronavirus outbreak.

Linh announced the decision on her Facebook account Friday morning, saying that she and Nguyen made the call after assessing the pandemic situation.

The couple had planned to hold a wedding ceremony in Vietnam this month. Over the past few weeks, they decided on the venue, sent invitations and prepared their outfits. But they decided to postpone it to protect people’s health.

A month ago, the couple held a wedding ceremony in Manila, the Philippines, during which they declared their undying love for each other.

Linh’s family Thursday donated VND 1.5 billion (US$64,000), which was to be a wedding deposit, to the Fund for the Poor in Ho Chi Minh City. They said the money would be used to protect people in poverty from the pandemic's effects.
