The 65-year-old woman was cleaning her house’s verandah early in the morning when she suddenly felt her left leg was bitten, reported Singaporean news site The Strait Times.

Initially taking the creature that bit her as a monitor lizard, Ghani shouted for her family for assistance. Her son then realized it was a baby crocodile and trapped it with a food cover.

The family instantly called to notify the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, which immediately sent a team of four members to Ghani’s household and captured the animal, said the Singapore-based news site AsiaOne.

Ghani then reported to authorities that she had seen crocodiles swimming in the Tanjung Bidara beach close to her house before really having the little creature gotten into her residential area. Authorities thus believed the reptile got into Ghani’s house while straying away from its natural habitat.

It was then handed over to the Department of Wildlife and National Park for further action.
