Over a thousand fans attended the fan meeting of Thai TV series “F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers” cast in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on Saturday night.

The four main characters of the series (called F4) Bright Vachirawit, Win Metawin, Nani Hirunkit and Dew Jirawat kicked off the show with a performance of the soundtrack "Who Am I," while the fans held up posters and continuously chanted the names of their idols.

Dew held a fan-made banner that had an animated version of himself throughout the show when he spotted it in the crowd, while Bright shared his thoughts.

"When we were planning our Asia tour, we wanted to come to Vietnam and see what the fans here are like," Bright said.

F4 tried to say some Vietnamese sentences following the host’s instruction. Then they recalled their journey with the series, which is a remake of the famous South Korean series "Boys Over Flowers."

"When I took part in this project, I was under pressure because I knew there have been many successful remakes of this series before," Win said. "All we knew was to try our best. I’m moved by your love and support."

The show continued with a video made by Vietnamese fans, including photos and the wishes of some fans. F4 responded to the emotional video in Vietnamese, saying "Chung toi yeu cac ban" (We love you all).

Each of the members then did solo performances on the stage. Nani began with the song "Cute Cute," Bright turned up the heat with "Saturday Night," while Win took it to another level with "One More Chance."

Quynh Giao, a 22-year-old fan, said she lost her voice after the show due to excessive screaming.

"I’m so happy to see these guys at such a close distance," Xiao said. "I bought the tickets weeks ago and waited so long to be a part of this amazing fan meeting."

However, the short duration of the show, the lackluster stage design and the poor sound quality left some fans feeling down in disappointed.

Vietnam is part of F4 Thailand’s Asia Tour. Before the fan meeting, the group also spent time taking photos and signing autographs for fans.

In the series, the four actors make up the notorious senior group known by the name F4 at their elite high school, which kids from rich families attend. These handsome boys are the offspring of the country's richest billionaires, and they sparkle with good looks and influence.

The four acted and sang vocals for the soundtrack of the series. Following the commercial success of the film, they officially formed the F4 Thailand boy band.
