According to the South China Morning Post, other assets in her dowry list include a flat in China’s southeastern city of Shenzhen and a holiday villa, totaling over US$4.2 million.

The bride is known as Lizi on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok. Her wedding, which took place on Feb. 5 in Henan province in central China and required three months of detailed planning, showcased her in a breathtaking traditional red Chinese gown and a sparkling gold crown, evoking the grandeur of ancient Chinese nobility.

Despite assumptions to the contrary, Lizi’s background is not one of affluence, according to Malaysian news source Hype.

Starting from a rural upbringing, she embarked on her wealth-building journey at 14 with a factory job in Shenzhen. Her ventures into the beauty industry, beginning with opening a salon and eventually growing to several branches nationwide, have amassed her a fortune worth millions of dollars.

It is reported that Lizi and her husband initially met through a dating app in 2023.

Her tale has been met with widespread admiration on social media, with many praising her independence and entrepreneurial success.

"Her story sends out positive energy. Hats off to this woman," a Douyin user, highlighted by the South China Morning Post, commended her. "She is much better than many other women who are greedy and always eager to marry wealthy guys."
