Chinese netizens angered as woman claims free meal by putting hair in food

China’s online platforms exploded with anger after a customer in the eastern city of Taizhou was exposed for repeatedly putting her hair in restaurants’ dishes to get compensated meals.

The deceit was exposed after a restaurant owner revealed the surveillance footage, which showed the female putting her own hair into her dish before calling the staff over to raise complaints, reported Thaiger earlier this week.

The video also showed the owner offering to remake the dish for the woman, only for her to repeat the trick once again and this time, get her meal free as the owner’s way to solve the matter.

Things escalated when the restaurant’s owner filed a report to the local police and found out that the customer had allegedly performed the trick many times in various eateries to get free meals or even financial compensation in return.

As the story went viral, netizens voiced their criticisms of the customer for being selfish and deceptive with her action. Many have also accused her of harming innocent businesses.

Authorities have promised to investigate to prevent similar incidents in the future.
