The video, in which Li is seen with her shoes off and both feet on her airplane seat, went viral on Chinese social media platforms Sunday and sparked debate over whether what she did was acceptable or not.

While many said that her posture was impolite and unacceptable, others said Li was free to take her shoes off because she was flying business class.
Some criticized those who criticized her, arguing that if a non-famous person did the same thing, people would have treated it completely normally. They said removing one’s shoes is a normal thing to do during the summer.
Li, 33, hasn’t commented publicly since the video of her went viral.
