Vietnam is among the top eight countries that have sold the highest number of Singapore tour packages for Taylor Swift's upcoming concert there, according to travel e-commerce platform Klook.

The combo tour packages include two tickets for the show and a night stay at either a four-star or a five-star hotel. Ticket prices range from $411 to $3,773, depending on the hotels.

Over 600,000 accounts from all over the world queued to purchase the combo packages, according to statistics by Klook. The packages were sold out within less than six hours, the firm added.

Among those who bought the combo packages, most came from the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, China and Malaysia.

Nguyen Huy Hoang, CEO of Klook Vietnam, said "music tourism" is not something new, but has been gaining prominence in recent years. Most of those who partake in music tourism are independent travelers who often face challenges such as buying tickets and finding suitable accommodations. Hoang said combo tour packages solve such problems.

Dieu T, from HCMC, said buying tickets online is difficult due to high demand, and accommodations are scarce in Singapore when major performances like Taylor Swift take place.

"I saw many people having to book dorms together to save costs. As accommodation costs are quite high, I decided to sleep at a friend's house in Singapore, or at the airport following the show, then come back to Vietnam," she said.

She said combo tour packages are expensive as they allow travelers to stay in four or five-star hotels, although for those unable to secure tickets the traditional way, they are a reliable option.

"The Eras Tour" is the ongoing concert tour by U.S. singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The show in Singapore, to take place in March 2024, will be Swift's only destination in Southeast Asia.
