Based on flight booking data on Chinese platform Qunar, Thailand was the most popular destination for Chinese, followed by Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, the U.S., the Philippines and Australia.
Bookings for flights to Japan witnessed a jump of over 60% compared with the same period in 2019, making it the destination with the largest growth among the top 10, Global Times reported.
Flight bookings for Thailand and Malaysia saw an increase of more than 30% and double for Singapore.
Data from online platform Ctrip also showed Vietnam on the list of most preferred holiday destinations for Chinese tourists during the holiday, known as "Golden Week" in China.
The number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam has been improving in recent months.
Vietnam has received over 1.2 million Chinese visitors so far this year, nearly 60% of last year’s total figure.
