The rise in travel interest follows the launch of new direct flights between Hanoi and Chinese cities such as Ningbo, Chengdu, Shanghai, and Xi'an, Agoda said.
From early July, Vietjet operated direct routes from Hanoi to Chengdu and Xi'an, popular tourist cities in China.
The high levels of safety, proximity and affordable travel costs are driving a surge in the number of Chinese visiting Vietnam, according to tourism experts.
The report also revealed searches for China by Vietnamese travelers rose by 50% year-on-year for the July–August 2025 period.
Travel interest to Ningbo increased by 77%, Chengdu 20%, Shanghai 68%, and Xi'an 130%, reflecting a curiosity for cultural exploration to metropolitan hubs as well as lesser-known destinations, Agoda said.
