Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam was one of the 10 most sought-after destinations for Vietnamese travelers during the Reunification Day-Labor Day holidays between April 30 and May 4, according to travel agency Booking.com.

The central city of Da Nang topped the list, followed by Da Lat and Vung Tau, based on accommodation searches between March 21-28 , with check-in dates between April 30 and May 4.

In Phu Quoc, the occupancy rate during the five-day holiday was 70% for four-star hotels and 50% for five-
star establishments, according to travel platform Mustgo, which partners with 2,000 hotels
nationwide.

Some hotels, such as Sol by Melia Phu Quoc, have reported an 80% occupancy rate.

Tran Quoc Hung, head of Mustgo’s product development department, said most visitors to Phu Quoc during the upcoming holidays are foreigners.

The dry season in Phu Quoc runs from November to April, offering sunny weather ideal for outdoor beach activities.

The Vietnam's largest island, voted the world's second most beautiful after Maldives by readers of American magazine Travel+Leisure, received more than 2 million visitors including 474,468 foreign tourists in the first quarter, a 66.5% year-on-year rise.
