South Korean tourists have expressed their biggest interest in exploring the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang this year, growing by 25% year-on-year, online travel platform Agoda shows.

American tourists came in second, followed by Taiwanese, Agoda said based on its accommodation searches on the platform in January 2025.

In 2024, Southeast Asian tourists led the way, with Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia emerging as the top source markets.

Last year Ha Giang welcomed 3.3 million tourist arrivals including 380,000 foreigners.

Ha Giang is gaining popularity among rich tourists.

All Asia Vacation (AAV), a company specializing in organizing tours for billionaires and millionaires visiting Vietnam, has taken several high-profile guests to Ha Giang including a Canadian billionaire in big data and cryptocurrency in 2022 and American and Thai millionaires in 2023.

Two American finance and property millionaires Jeff Grinspoon and Jon Thomas Foley recently visited Ha Giang.
