This was the third time the Filipino capital won the title.
Known as the "Pearl of the Orient", Manila is the second-most populous city of the Philippines after Quezon City.
The city is famous for its rich Spanish colonial history, vibrant culture, bustling markets, diverse street food, massive malls, and as the Philippines' bustling economic/trade hub, blending historic sites with modern city life and warm hospitality.
"The distinction reflects the capital's strengthened cultural landscape, culinary offerings, heritage districts, and improved readiness for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions," the Philippines' Department of Tourism said.
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry and are often referred to as the "Oscars of the travel industry." These annual awards are determined by votes from both travel industry professionals and the public.
