Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh, one of the localities hardest hit by typhoon Yagi, resumed normal operation of tourist boats on Friday, nearly a week after the severe impacts.

Tourism activities have gradually returned to normal in Ha Long. Local residents and functional forces have cleaned up the area.

Tourist boats have been maintained and repaired to ensure safety standards.

Nearly all the 80 vessels of this kind are ready to welcome guests again. Tourism service businesses in Ha Long city also focus on preparing infrastructure and personnel conditions to welcome tourists back.

The Ha Long international passenger port reopened to welcome international visitors to the bay from Sept. 10.

It received over 70 vessels with more than 1,500 tourists from China and South Korea. However, to ensure safety for tourism activities on the bay, tourist pick-up activities at the port were temporarily suspended to conduct safety inspections.

Ha Long aims to attract over 9.5 million visitors in 2024.
