Topping the list was Azerbaijan, followed by Bali in Indonesia and Manali, a popular resort town in Himachal Pradesh, India, according to Google’s India Year in Search 2024 report.
Malaysia began waiving visas for Indian tourists late last year, which has contributed to a significant increase in Indian visitors. By October 2024, Malaysia had welcomed 910,000 Indian tourists, surpassing the total of 671,000 from the previous year.
Malaysia and Thailand are the only two Southeast Asian countries offering visa exemptions for travelers from the world's most populous nation.
Vietnam, which was the most searched destination by Indian Googlers last year, did not make it onto this year’s list.
Malaysia was named the most loved country in Asia in a survey conducted by Insider Monkey in June.
