Taiwan came in second place, followed by Singapore, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
The ranking was based on various metrics including respect, friendliness, diversity, democracy and the number of foreign tourists.
According to the website, Malaysia is a "great example of unity and friendliness."
"It is a preferred destination for tourists eager to immerse themselves in the diverse cultures of its local communities," it added. "Malaysia's hospitality and friendliness enhance this cultural exploration, making it a memorable experience for visitors."
Malaysia recorded nearly 29 million foreign arrivals last year, becoming the most popular destination in Southeast Asia.
Malaysia recently eased visa requirements for tourists from major economies like China and India.
