A flight from Melbourne to Bali was forced to make an emergency landing Monday after a passenger yelled and banged on the cockpit door.

The Jetstar flight carrying over 300 passengers onboard turned back after two hours of departure, Business Insider reported, citing data from Flightradar24.

"The captain decided to return to Melbourne to get assistance from the Australian Federal Police after a passenger became disruptive just under two hours into the flight," Jetstar said in a statement.

Video clips uploaded to social media showed a female passenger screaming at others.

Witnesses said that the woman claimed someone had stolen her mobile phone during the flight and had started yelling at other passengers, even storming the cockpit and banging on the door.

The flight had been rescheduled the following day and passengers affected by the incident were provided with hotel accommodation and other necessary expenses.

Australian police are investigating the incident.
