Korean Royal Architecture and Traditional Culture Festival coming to HCMC this week

Korea is renowned for its historical dramas. Now, the beauty of Korea's palaces, set against the backdrop of an autumnal atmosphere, will be recreated at the 2024 Korea Festival, hosted at Estella Place Shopping Mall in Thu Duc City, managed by Keppel Mall Management.

In its 5th year, the festival will bring unique cultural features and provide visitors with the opportunity to explore a wide array of distinctive local products right in Ho Chi Minh City.

The launch ceremony took place on Oct. 11 and was graced by notable figures, including Jung Ga-Yeon, Deputy Consul-General at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea; Lee Hee Sang, Regional Director General for Southeast Asia and Oceania at the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA); Jeong Joon Kyu, Director General at KOTRA Ho Chi Minh City; Han Joong Sub, Director of the Representative Office of Daegu Metropolitan City in Ho Chi Minh City; Joseph Low, President of Real Estate (Vietnam) and Head of Retail at Keppel Ltd.; and Richard Tay, General Director of Estella Joint Venture Company Limited.

With the support of KOTRA, the festival welcomes the participation of many famous Korean brands.

Beyond the booths showcasing local products, the festival will also feature prominent Korean industry players, including CJ Foods and LG VINA Cosmetics, who will offer exciting promotions to ensure a diverse and attractive shopping experience for visitors.

Tay expressed pride in collaborating once again with KOTRA, with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in HCMC, media partners, and valued tenants.

"Together, we are offering our visitors and shoppers a vibrant celebration that fosters cultural exchange and encourages the growing ties between Vietnam and Korea," Tay said. "Through the festival's diverse range of activities, we hope to showcase Korea's cultural richness while introducing a variety of high-quality Korean brands to the dynamic Vietnamese market."

From Oct. 11-20, visitors at Estella Place can enjoy a wide range of traditional Korean cultural activities, such as workshops on making hairpins and bracelets, K-Pop modern dance performances, Hanbok showcases, and instant sticker photo opportunities.

There will also be opportunities to shop for standout Korean products at attractive prices through KOTRA booths during the festival.

A special highlight of the festival will be the appearance of Ho-rang-ii Tigers, a pair of mascots dressed in Hanbok, symbolizing the courage, strength, and peace of the Korean people.
