The international route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Melbourne is the fifth-cheapest in Asia-Pacific, with one-way fares costing from VND4.62 million (US$195), according to an Agoda survey.

Delhi-Dubai was named as the cheapest international air route, with fares starting from $90, followed by Perth-Kuala Lumpur and Bali-Adelaide.

Melbourne, the coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria, is well known for its arts scene, sporting events, coffee culture, and vibrant nightlife.

Melbourne is about an 8.5-hour flight from HCMC.

The Agoda survey was based on actual flight bookings made on its website across Aug. 1-14 for flights departing in September and October this year.

Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air currently offer direct flights along the route.
