Bangkok is the favorite outbound tourist destination among Vietnamese travelers for the upcoming Reunification Day (April 30) and Labor Day (May 1) holidays, Booking.com reported.

Seoul came in second, followed by Tokyo, Singapore and Taipei, according to the Dutch-based agency that compiled the list based on an analysis of check-in dates between April 28 and May 7.

The rest of the list included Sydney, Osaka, Paris, Hong Kong and Kyoto.

This year, Vietnamese will enjoy a five-day break as the Hung Kings anniversary celebration falls on April 29, which is a Saturday, and people are entitled to take two extra days off the following week to compensate for that and Reunification Day on Sunday.

Last year, Thailand received 470,000 tourists from Vietnam, nearly half of the pre-pandemic figure.

Thailand currently offers visa exemptions for over 50 countries, including Vietnam, for stays of up to 45 days.

A trip to Thailand now costs VND5 million-VND7 million ($211-$296), making it affordable for Vietnamese travelers.
