Flag carrier Vietnam Airlines was the nation’s sole presence in the list of the world’s 100 best airlines though it slipped seven places from last year to 48th.
Qatar Airways was named the world’s best airline for 2022, followed by Singapore Airlines and Emirates.
The rest of the top 10 were All Nippon Airways, Qantas Airways, Turkish Airlines, Air France, Korean Air and Swiss International Air Lines.
The winners list, released by U.K.-based airline and airport review and ranking site Skytrax on Friday, was based on a survey of more than 14 million customers in more than 100 countries between September 2021 to August 2022.
Two other Vietnamese representatives also earned kudos at this year’s awards.
Bamboo Airways secured 15th place in a list of the world’s 20 best regional airlines while Vietjet Air was announced Vietnam’s best low-cost carrier.
After two years of virtual award ceremonies, the 2022 World Airline Awards event returned to normal procedures, with airlines from around the world attending this year’s awards ceremony, at the historic Langham Hotel in London.
