Motorcyclist dies after hit by open car door

A pregnant woman in central Nghe An Province died after her motorbike was hit by a car door swung open by the driver.

The 34-year-old woman was riding the motorbike on Phan Dang Luu Street, Vinh City, at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday when she was hit by the door of the driver's seat of a Honda CRV, which swung open unexpectedly.

A garbage truck then collided into the motorbike from behind.

Camera footage revealed that the Honda CRV at the time was parked on the side of the road. Due to the driver opening the car door suddenly, the woman was unable to react in time.

The woman was seven months pregnant. An investigation is ongoing.
