Vietnam’s biggest conglomerate Vingroup has established a new company to research and develop humanoid robotics, VinDynamics.

It holds a 51% stake in the subsidiary's charter capital of VND500 billion (US$19 million), Vingroup said in an announcement. The main business focus of VinDynamics is production and technology transfer.

The conglomerate led by Vietnam’s richest man, Pham Nhat Vuong, already has two robotics companies, VinRobotics and VinMotion, with a 51% stake in each.

At an exhibition earlier this month in Hanoi, Vingroup showed off several robots made by the two companies that are capable of walking, interacting and conversing in natural language with people around them.

Vingroup reported after-tax profits of VND4.54 trillion on revenues of VND130.48 trillion in the first half of the year, with both figures doubling year-on-year.
