CellphoneS, an authorized Apple distributor, listed the desert titanium color 256GB version at VND29.7 million (US$1100), a VND800,000 cut, Dantri reported.
Black, white and natural titanium versions are selling for VND300,000-500,000 more. Notably, this is the first time the device’s price has fallen below VND30 million at authorized resellers.
The price drop is likely due to supply issues. This version was highly sought after by Vietnamese customers and frequently sold out during its release, and retailers responded by importing in bulk, leading to an oversupply.

Nearly a year after its launch the iPhone 16 Pro Max continues to be the most popular model in the country, with sales steadily rising following several price adjustments.
"The 16 Pro Max accounts for about 50% of total iPhone sales," a Minh Tuan Mobile spokesperson said. "Within the iPhone 16 lineup, the Pro Max makes up nearly 70% of sales."
Van Thi Ngoc Yen, director of Apple products at Di Dong Viet, said Vietnamese consumers have developed unique habits in buying high-end tech, especially iPhones. "People are ready to pay extra for better cameras, strong performance, big screens, and a sleek design. That is why the Pro and Pro Max versions always sell out quickly when new iPhones launch in Vietnam."
Market research firm Counterpoint Research said the iPhone 16 was the world’s best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2025, but lagged far behind in Vietnam.
Nguyen Lac Huy of CellphoneS said the standard iPhone 16 only accounted for 6% of iPhone sales and 10% of iPhone 16 lineup sales. "In the first five months of 2025 47% of all iPhones sold were iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models."
