The robot gained widespread attention after a video of it running down a hill, originally posted on Douyin, circulated on X and garnered over 80 million views, according to Interesting Engineering. Dressed in shorts, a loose polo shirt, and sneakers, the robot moves effortlessly, drawing comparisons to U.S. comedian and actor Adam Sandler.
Other videos of "Uncle Bot" have continued to spread across social platforms, amassing millions of views. These clips feature the robot walking with its hands in its pockets, sitting in a car with its legs crossed, visiting temples, and even walking a robot dog.
The identity of the robot's owner remains unknown, and Unitree, the manufacturer, declined to comment on whether this was part of a marketing campaign.

The Unitree G1 is an upgraded version of the Unitree H1. Standing 1.3 meters tall and weighing 35 kg, the G1 is smaller and lighter than the H1, which stands at 1.8 meters and weighs 47 kg. Priced from approximately US$16,000, the G1 is designed for advanced mobility, human interaction, and autonomous behavior.
It is equipped with advanced sensors and multi-jointed limbs, allowing it to move with impressive agility, run, walk at decent speeds, and even climb stairs, according to tech site PC Gamer.
Recent updates have enhanced the G1's balance and walking abilities, allowing it to perform complex movements like kip-ups, martial arts, and cooking. Several G1 models also took part in the world’s first robot boxing tournament in May in Hangzhou.
