Multiple stretches of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway within Dong Nai Province have reached the paving stage, more than two years after construction started.
The expressway was open for technical traffic on Dec. 19. Once operational, the route is intended to alleviate traffic volume on National Highway 51 and improve connectivity to the Long Thanh International Airport.

The interchange connecting the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, and Road T2 leading to Long Thanh Airport has taken shape.
Now clearly defined by its alignment, overpass ramps, and access roads, this project represents one of the most complex interchanges along the entire route.
The overpass ramps, entry and exit points, and approach roads have been successfully asphalted, while construction continues on the bridge decks.
The main carriageway of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway at this interchange is being paved. Once operational, the interchange will enhance connectivity between Long Thanh Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, and the provinces of Dong Nai and Tay Ninh.
Machinery is operating at high intensity across other sections of the project, focusing on the development of the main line and parallel service roads.
Contractors report that prolonged heavy rain has left the ground saturated, causing significant disruptions to several construction stages. To compensate for the lost progress, crews are now working through the night to keep the project on schedule.
At the project's starting point, where the expressway connects to Vo Nguyen Giap Street in downtown Dong Nai, several sections are still undergoing ground compaction.
