Chinese electric vehicle maker Avatr Technology has unveiled a smart factory capable of producing one car every minute, powered by 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence.

The plant, which opened Monday, was developed in partnership with Chinese carmaker Changan Automobile, tech giant Huawei, telecom operator China Unicom, and other industry players.

It features end-to-end digital integration, including real-time data transmission, AI-driven analytics, and full product traceability, according to Chinese outlet Auto-home.

A unified digital platform connects each stage of the assembly line, enabling flexible production and supporting over 1,200 vehicle configurations with different powertrains on the same line.

The factory is equipped with 369 monitoring systems and 26 quality control checkpoints, enhanced by AI-powered visual inspection technology operating across 25 scenarios and 73 workstations.

Avatr also confirmed plans to launch a new flagship SUV co-developed with Huawei, CarNewsChina reported.

The model will be part of the company’s plan to release 17 new vehicles by 2030, including sedans, SUVs, MPVs, and sports cars.

It aims to reach 800,000 annual global sales.

The company is a joint venture between Changan Automobile, battery maker CATL, and Huawei, according to AsiaOne.

It began its international expansion in 2024 and has entered 25 markets, including Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

In 2025, it launched the Avatr 11 SUV in Singapore and signed distribution deals in Jordan and Egypt. Earlier models debuted in Thailand and Dubai, priced between 500,000 and 700,000 yuan (US$69,800–97,700).
