The base 13-inch model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD is priced at VND26.7 million (US$1,034) and the 15-inch version starts at VND32 million.

Nguyen Lac Huy, media representative for retailer CellphoneS, told Dan Tri newspaper that early sales have outperformed previous models.

"We see strong potential in the MacBook Air M4.

"Sales were 50% higher than the previous generation. The 15-inch version has also shown promising results."

The M4 model retains the same design as its predecessor but includes performance upgrades such as the new M4 chip and expanded 16GB base RAM. It also supports Apple’s latest AI features, including smart replies, mail summaries and genmoji.

"The earlier MacBook Air M1 and M3 models have now been discontinued, making the M4 version the strategic focus of our MacBook lineup in 2025," Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple product director at retailer Di Dong Viet, said.

Retailers say remaining stocks of the discontinued models are running low, with sales now shifting toward the newer M2 and M4 series.

"Prices of older models were already reduced through several rounds of cuts and are now relatively steady," a Minh Tuan Mobile spokesperson said.

"However, availability is becoming limited, especially for specific memory and color options."

While Apple has not confirmed which models will be discontinued, retailers expect a clear move toward newer versions.
