Xiaomi will expand its home appliance lineup in Vietnam this year, introducing air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines among others.

Xiaomi Vietnam’s sales director, Niu Chen, confirmed at an event on Mar. 16 that the company would roll out the products in the second half of the year.

The company, known for its smartphones, tablets, wearables, and air purifiers, has sold TVs in Vietnam since 2022 and recently added smart home devices like water purifiers and automatic pet feeders.

While its major appliances are not yet officially available in Vietnam, imported units have been sold on the gray market for nearly two years.

They are popular for their affordability, sleek design and smart features, allowing remote control and monitoring via a single app.

In China, Xiaomi competes with major brands like Samsung and LG with a diverse range of major appliances.

Pricing and specific models for Vietnam have yet to be announced.

Xiaomi has already established a strong presence in the Vietnamese consumer electronics market.

Two years after launching its TV lineup, the brand frequently ranks among the top three online TV sellers along with LG and Samsung.

According to distributor Hop Long, Xiaomi’s major appliances are expected to attract young, tech-savvy consumers and loyal brand users.

But succeeding in this market would require strong after-sales service, including installation, maintenance and repairs, it added.

Chen also revealed plans to introduce Xiaomi’s electric vehicle, the SU7, in international markets by 2027.

A source told VnExpress that Xiaomi is considering displaying the car in Vietnam by late 2026 and potentially start selling in 2027, depending on market conditions.
