VnExpress Marathon HCMC night race medals are inspired by French-style archway and iconic landmarks of the city.

The overall design of the VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight medals represents the French colonial architecture in Saigon which prevailed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as demonstrated in famous buildings including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Central Post Office.

The People's Committee headquarters is depicted in the medal's center. The 110 year-old building is inspired by the city hall of Paris, with the facade overlooking the Saigon River.
