The prizes are divided equally into two categories: professional athletes and amateurs. The top award of VND30.5 million in cash and assets will be given to the male and female winners of 42km distance. The runners-up will each receive VND26.5 million and third-place finishers VND22.9 million.
The top three finalists will be disqualified if they violate any rules of the tournament.
Professional male runners must finish the race under 2 hours 45 minutes, and professional female athletes under 3 hours and 10 minutes. If they fail to meet the time limit, their results will be transferred to the age category.
The rule does not apply to amateur athletes.
The first, second and third-place finishers of the half marathon (21km) will receive VND20 million, VND16 million and VND14 million, respectively.
For the 10km distance, the three prizes are worth VND7 million, VND5 million and VND3 million.
The 5km distance will offer prizes of VND6 million, VND4 million and VND2 million for the first three finishers.
Aside from the prizes, the organizers also provide runners with race-kit bags with more than 10 items including shirt, hat, bib, belt, lotion, sunscreen, and foods.
For the 21 and 42km, race-kit bag will include stretch roller and the LED running light.
The post-race food court will serve hot dogs, noodles, beef, beer, coconut water, and fruits.
VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh City Midnight 2023 will take place on February 12, expected to welcome 10,000 runners.
The race will start at Tao Dan Park and end in front of the Saigon Zoo.
